Rebecca R. Rod creates unique raku pottery by uniting a finely-tuned artists aesthetic with spiritual concepts and ideals. One is initially drawn in by the beauty of her pieces, and then becomes engaged on a deeper level by personal contact with the work itself -- the sound of a rattle, the words on a prayer bowl, or the form and grace of a vase. Her detailed decoration is unusual for raku pottery, but she finds a kind of inner satisfaction in combining the order and control of her design work with the random results of the raku firing process.

| "Working with clay opened a path for me to know myself as I never had before. It offered me grounding, healing, and a way to express myself creatively and spiritually. My art reflects back to me what I believe and value and aspire to even what I wish for in the world." | ![]() |
